Karl Lagerfeld was a German fashion designer and creative director. He was known for his work at major fashion houses, including Chanel, Fendi, and his own eponymous label.
Lagerfeld began his fashion career in the 1950s and 60s, working for Pierre Balmain, Jean Patou, and Chloé. He joined Chanel in 1983, and became the creative director of the brand, transforming it into one of the most successful and iconic fashion houses in the world. He also served as creative director of the Italian fashion house Fendi for over 50 years.
Lagerfeld was known for his distinctive personal style.
