About Lea Stein (Born In France)
Lea Stein is a renowned designer who began creating her iconic jewellery in the early 1960’s. Along with her husband, Fernand Steinberger, who was a chemist at the time, Stein developed a unique technique of layering and laminating thin sheets of celluloid acetate. This process, which could take up to six months to complete, resulted in multi-dimensional pieces with extraordinary designs, colours, textures, and patterns.
Stein continues to work in this way, hand-crafting each piece and ensuring that no two are ever exactly alike. All Lea Stein pieces stocked at Harlequin Market are signed and sourced directly from Stein herself in Paris by Bruna Harrison, guaranteeing their authenticity and collectibility.
